ABOUT NOUNS / A SHORT THESIS
Nouns is interesting not only because the characters are memorable. It is interesting because anyone can take them somewhere unexpected—without asking first.

MANY DIRECTIONS
01
THE CC0 IDEA
CC0 places permission at the center. People can copy, change, publish, sell, combine, discard, or rediscover the work. The interesting part is not simply that the art is “free.” It is that the next person has the right to surprise the first one.
An idea can move at the speed of the person who has it.
Each new use can make the shared visual language larger, stranger, and more useful.
Participation is no longer limited to collecting or commenting. It can produce the next work.
02
WHY NOUNS
Nouns has an unusual balance: simple enough to remix, specific enough to recognize. The square glasses, pixel grammar, bright grounds, and improbable heads make a Noun legible across posters, games, objects, stories, clubs, and things that do not have a category yet.
That makes Nouns a vivid demonstration of CC0. A derivative is not a leak from the system. It is evidence that the system is alive.
THE INTERESTING FRONTIER
“What if an artwork could become more itself each time somebody else made something with it?”
The answer will not come from one official story. It comes from many people trying useful, beautiful, funny, ambitious, and deeply weird things in public.
